Jacqui Carey
As an art student Jacqui studied weaving, braidmaking and whilst unravelling the mysteries of Kumihimo, Japanese braiding, she discovered her passion for stitches. Jacqui was awarded The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship, then gained an MA with distinction for History of Textile & Dress at The Textile Conservation Centre, England. After a chance discovery of some obsolete stitches, her interest in analysing old textiles led her to 16th & 17th century English embroidery.
